Travel to Ranakpur

Travel to Ranakpur in Rajasthan located in the beautiful valleys of Aravalli mountain range. Known worldwide for magnificent carve temples built in Amber stone, it is one of the five sacred places for Jain pilgrims. Right from the plush green hills to serene surroundings, a tour to Ranakpur is worth experiencing.

The history of this most revered Jain temple complex dates back to the 15th century. Ranakpur has taken its name from Rana Kumbha who gave away the land for constructing temples to a Jain businessman. Just located 60 kms from Udaipur, Ranakpur Jain temple complex is one of the most favored destinations in Rajasthan. These Jain temples in Ranakpur were built in 1439 AD and even today also these are holding their charm and glory.

Engulfed in a wall, this Jain temple complex in Ranakpur covers an area of 48,000 sq feet. The 'Chaturmukha' temple or four-faced temple of Rishabdeoji is the main Jain temple in the complex. This intricately carved marble temple comprises of 4 small shrines, 24 halls and 8 domes with 400 columns.

The unique feature of the temple is that no two pillars out of 1444 are alike in design or pattern. Two other temples of Parsvanath and Neminath are also there in the complex. On your tour to Ranakpur in Rajasthan you will see the exquisite craftsmanship of the past. The carvings on the temples are similar with Khajoraho temples.
